WSU students recieve FREE admission to all home NCAA athletic events.

The proud citizens of Shocker Nation are no strangers to excellence in athletics, and recent seasons gave them plenty to cheer for! From conference championships to NCAA tournament appearances, student athletes are competing regularly for national attention. In addition, during fall 2015, student athletes’ average GPA was 3.14 and they volunteered more than 1,000 community service hours.

In 2016, the Shockers won the MVC regular season and the conference tournament. They also won the first-ever NCAA regional game. Shocker Softball Coaching Staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year in 2014.

Men’s Basketball

WSU boasts one of the nation’s most successful men’s basketball programs, with 30+ wins in four of the last five seasons. In 2017, the Shockers swept the MVC regular season and tournament titles and reached the NCAA Tournament for a sixth-consecutive year.


In 2016, our baseball program produced three Freshman All-Americans in Greyson Jenista, Alec Bohm and Dayton Dugas. The Shockers have been to 27 NCAA Tournaments and won 20 Missouri Valley Conference regular-season titles.

The Shockers ranked as high as No. 13 nationally in 2016 and have won every Valley women’s tennis championship since 2009 while advancing to a record eight-straight NCAA Tournaments.

Beginning July 1, 2017 WSU will join the American Athletic Conference.
