FRESHMAN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students graduating from an accredited high school, under the age of 21, MUST:
1Complete the precollege curriculum with at least a 2.0 GPA; (2.5 for out-of-state students); AND
2 Achieve ONE of the following:
ACT score of 21 or higher; OR
SAT score of 1060 or higher; OR
Graduate in the top one-third of their class; AND
3 Achieve a 2.0 GPA or higher on any college credit taken in high school.

➲ Take the ACT/SAT and submit your score to WSU. Wichita State’s ACT code is 1472. Wichita State’s SAT code is 6884.
Fully admitted students are automatically considered for four-year, renewable scholarship awards ranging from $8,000-$16,000 for Kansas residents and $8,000-$24,000 for non-residents. Awards are based on high school GPA and national test score (ACT/SAT). Kansas residents and non residents named a National Merit or National Hispanic Recognition finalist receive a scholarship of $80,000 (residents) or $112,000 (non-residents).

Shocker City Partnership*
If you are a resident of the Denver, St. Louis, Kansas City, St. Joseph, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, Tulsa, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Killeen-Temple, San Antonio, Houston, or Waco areas you are eligible to receive regular in-state tuition through the Shocker City Partnership-a savings of about $8,950 a year.
Shocker Select offers a 33 percent discount on out-of-state tuition to residents of Oklahoma and Texas. Shocker Select students save about $5,700 each year.
Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP)
The Midwest Student Exchange Program offers 33 percent off out-of-state tuition to residents of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin who meet the program’s qualifications for major, test score and GPA. MSEP students save about $5,700 each year.
If you are a nonresident who pays out-of-state tuition rates and your parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent or step-grandparent graduated from WSU with an associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree, you are eligible to receive regular in-state tuition. Legacy students save about $8,950 each year.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on previous college work, and have graduated from an accredited high school or have the required GED scores.*
With no transfer work:
Have graduated from an accredited high school or meet the required GED scores.*
*GED requirements vary depending on the year the test was taken.
